Radio Frequency Identification Consultancy
Sensor Technology Adoption
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an identification technology that has been around for some time. It has mainly being deployed by larger enterprises such as `Marks and Spencer` and `Sainsbury’s`. However, it has many potential uses in all sizes of business and a few of these are listed below:
- Asset Control
- Traceability of goods in the supply chain
- Logistics
- Staff Attendance
At IT Futures we have a team of experienced RFID consultants who actively encourage the use of RFID across many sectors of business by showcasing the technology in our demonstration centre at the University of Wolverhampton. The team offer consultancy, guidance, solutions development and training in the use of RFID technology.
NTAILS Project
In January 2011, IT Futures launched a new ERDF funded project called NTAILS (New Technologies and Applications for Identification, Location and Sensing) based at the University of Wolverhampton’s campus in Telford.
This exciting new project will exhibit demonstrator sets in the application of several sensor technologies such as RFID, GPS and Bluetooth in a variety of business sectors including Logistics, Manufacturing, Food & Drink, Retail and Tourism & Leisure.
Businesses wishing to adopt these technologies will be assisted and supported over a 3 year period by IT Futures.
