Dr Sarah Slater, Director of the NTAILS project is pleased to announce that a collaborative relationship has been established between the NTAILS centre and GS1 the leading international barcode standards company.
GS1 is dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains globally and across sectors. The GS1 system of standards is the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world. GS1 is an international, not-for-profit organisation with member organisations in over 100 countries and IT Futures is delighted to be able to work closely with GS1 UK.
Through the partnership, the NTAILS centre is widening its business audience to raise awareness of RFID and Sensor technologies. The partnership will enable targeted marketing to GS1 UK members in business sectors such as Health, Apparel, Asset Management and Retail that will promote the Centre and encourage visitors. In addition, a series of joint seminars will be held at the Centre to promote the benefits of adopting these technologies.
The first series of seminars - using RFID to drive supply chain efficiency and cost savings - due to be held on 23 May and 13 June 2012 will focus on real-world applications and case studies and will include a tour of the facilities with hands-on demonstrations of how RFID is being used today in a wide range of supply chain applications.
