TDS

Overview

TDS is a company that offers an excellent service in Computer Aided Design for the construction industry and has over 20 years of trading history.

Challenge

The TDS team of 15+ engineers work for multiple clients and on varied projects throughout the year. Time capture (using paper based diaries) and monthly invoicing had become time consuming, administration-heavy and with the amount of human intervention required, the possibility for error was increasing as the company grew. This was a source of large frustration throughout the company, including senior management, engineers and the administration staff. The constant re-checking of the data meant hours of eye-balling spreadsheets and questioning the engineers over tasks that may have happened weeks before.

Overview

M&P Engineering is a successful engineering firm based in Telford, Shropshire. In 10 years of trading the company had not had any type of process review from initial sales enquiries through to finance. The processes had evolved in an erratic manner over the 10 years and it became evident that a complete review would be beneficial. M&P was also interested in how it could automate its processes as much as possible using cloud-based computing.

Challenge

M&P first sat down with the Agile Office consultant to explain the way in which its business currently worked and which systems and processes were currently in place. The consultant came away understanding which processes were working well for the business and which elements required adjustments.

A report was presented to M&P. This included the existing model the client was working under and an alternative model which would help to improve overall efficiency.

Finally, there was an automation review to recommend which parts of the process were ready for automating and which aspect of the business each of these belonged to.
